A Sample of Recent Appeals By Barrs & Co

Holiday Lodge Park, Lake District

Large holiday lodge park with extensive luxury hire units and privately owned lodges. On appeal we reduced the rateable value from £390,000 to £260,000. The agreed reduction was backdated and produced a significant saving and refund.

Holiday Park, Northumberland

Substantial park with holiday hire caravans and lodges, extensive numbers of private owners and a large leisure complex with indoor pool. On appeal the rateable value was reduced from over £470,000 to £390,000. This produced an annual saving to the business of some £40,000 which was backdated.

Holiday Centre, Devon

Extensive holiday park with a variety of high quality letting accommodation many of which had private facilities including hot tub spa’s. On appeal the rateable value was reduced from over £725,000 to under £600,000. This produced a significant saving to the business of around £70,000 per annum.

Small Holiday Park, Somerset

Small coastal park with mainly privately owned caravan holiday homes. On appeal the rateable value was reduced from £44,000 to £29,000. This produced a refund to the business of backdated rates.
